At Steel Street, we match buyers and sellers of aerospace-grade raw materials.
Steel Street was founded in early 2006 when Ryan Edwards found it increasingly difficult to locate and buy raw materials from traditional sources for his small, family-owned manufacturing firm. Having spent years in the aerospace machining industry, Ryan knew that there must be hundreds of tons of leftover, mill-certified, aerospace-grade material just sitting around in thousands of manufacturing facilities, both large and small across the county. With world-wide economic growth and emerging economies in Southeast Asia exacerbating an already acute shortage of these materials, it was time to exploit this valuable "hidden inventory" of excess material and provide a service to redistribute it through the supply chain.
